August 14, 2019 the day, Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, announced for no to single use Plastic and make the nation Plastic free till October 2, 2019, as a tribute to the Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi Ji on his 100th Birth Anniversary and to support nationwide support Hon’ble Founder Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Sulabh International Centre for Action Sociology, blew the trumpet of campaign on September 12, 2019 at Hanuman Temple, Connaught Place, New Delhi. On the said date and day, the Campaign moved in the shop lobby and collected polybag from the shop owners and vendors and in return provided them cloths bags. The procession shouted and raised slogans, to aware the community about the ill effects of polythene and to put their efforts to make the nation free of it. Sulabh staff, students and teachers of Sulabh Public School actively participated in the campaign. Also, procession was taken out in INA market, and Lodhi Garden New Delhi. The Campaign was continued on the next day too, i.e. September 13, 2019 and procession was taken to Nasirpur Sabzi Mandi, Palam, Mahavir Enclave, Bangoli Colony and Dwarka Sec-1, New Delhi and from here also polythene and polybags were collected with an exchange of cloth bags. Finally, the day was ended with collection of heap of plastics.
